FIRE PREVENTION

Reducing Fire Risk for North Idaho Homeowners

If you live in the forested rural areas of North Idaho, wildfire is an annual possibility. Skywalker Tree Care provides practical, experience-based guidance to help reduce your exposure to wildfire and improve defensible space around your home.

Arborist Michael brings 18 years of fire-service experience—7 years in a major city department and 11 years volunteering locally, including 9 years as Assistant Chief. For many years, we served as a vendor for the Bonfire (Bonner County) and Boundary FireSafe programs, helping homeowners create safer, more fire-resilient properties.

We also operate a 2,800-gallon Wildland Type II Water Tender, contracted with the USFS, giving us hands-on experience with wildfire behavior and suppression support.

This unique combination of forestry, arboriculture, and firefighting experience allows us to offer informed, realistic guidance on wildfire mitigation—not just theory.

IMPORTANT: During extreme weather events, no mitigation plan can fully eliminate wildfire risk. Our goal is to reduce risk and improve defensible space, not guarantee complete protection.
