Hand piled brush during fire prevention operation.
Brush, lower limbs and debris have been cleaned up and piled for later burning.
Piles were burned late October.
Fire prevention work extended about 100′ radius from the house.
Removal of lower limbs, brush and debris is done to keep the fire on the ground to reduce flame lengths.
This creates a defensible space around the house.
May even benefit the tree house.
Remaining trees are well spaced and the ones near the house are fire resistant.
This area was packed with small trees.
Before and after thinning.
